Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor problems are common at every stage of life - after birth, through menopause, or seemingly out of nowhere. Common does not mean you have to live with them. Pelvic health physiotherapy is an evidence-based, non-surgical way to treat bladder, bowel and pelvic floor concerns.
Conditions I treat
- Stress or urge incontinence, overactive bladder, urgency and frequency
- Difficulty emptying the bladder, nocturia (waking at night to wee)
- Constipation, straining and faecal incontinence
- Pelvic organ prolapse - heaviness, bulging or dragging sensations
- Pelvic pain, coccyx (tailbone) pain, pain with sitting
- Pain with intimacy, vaginismus, vulvodynia and endometriosis-related pain
- Recurrent urinary tract infection symptoms
Treatment may include
- Pelvic floor muscle training - strengthening or, just as often, learning to relax
- Real-time ultrasound biofeedback so you can see your muscles working
- Bladder and bowel habit retraining
- Manual therapy, breathing and sensory regulation strategies
- Pain education and a home program tailored to your stage of life
Your first appointment starts with a conversation - assessment only ever proceeds at your pace and with your consent.
I see patients at Brabham (Swan Valley area) and Craigie (near Joondalup), with telehealth available across Australia.
